Eugene, OR-based Tyree Oil has acquired the lubricants division of Portland, OR-based Christenson Oil. The purchase price was not disclosed.
By acquiring the company, Tyree Oil customers will have access to expanded product lines and additional technical services, according to a statement from Tyree Oil. According to its website, Christenson Oil distributes Valvoline, Castrol, Universal Lubricants and Red Line lubricants. According to its website, Tyree distributes Phillips 66, Valvoline, Chevron and Whitmore's lubricants.
Tyree Oil, founded in 1988, is an oil, fuel and lubricants distributor. The firm and its affiliated companies have about 140 employees. The company, with headquarters in Eugene, grew, mainly by acquiring firms. The acquisition is Tyree Oils third purchase in Portland since 2014. Tyree Oil has been serving the Pacific Northwest for over two decades. The company has additional branch locations in Portland, Roseburg, and Reedsport.
Christenson Oil owns and maintains a 17,000 square foot bulk blending and packaging facility, as well as a 55,000 square foot office / warehouse located on Saint Helens Road in Portland, Oregon. With over 275,000 gallons of bulk lubricant, base oil, and additive storage, Christenson Oil is one of the largest independently owned blending facilities in the Pacific Northwest.
Christenson Oil will continue to operate a separate lubricant blending facility in Portland.
