Petrol Ofisi to Blend and Supply Chevron Marine Lubricants in Turkey

Chevron has signed agreements with the leading fuel products distribution and lubricants company of Turkey, Petrol Ofisi in Istanbul, that will result in significantly improved supplies of marine lubricants to ship operators and managers operating in Turkey. This alliance covers production, logistics and delivery service of the full range of Chevron’s marine lubricant product line in Turkey for the first time.

Pedro Cardenes, General Manager Finished Lubricants - Marine said, “Chevron is pleased to collaborate with Petrol Ofisi to offer Chevron’s full range of marine lubricants and services to customers in Turkey, including foreign ships trading to Turkey or transiting the important Bosphorus Seaway. We look forward to expanding our offering to customers as the result of this collaboration.”

Petrol Ofisi has a dedicated marine lubricants sales department in Istanbul which also supplies marine bunker fuels to the shipping industry in Turkey.

Petrol Ofisi, owned by Austria's OMV, manufactures lubricants at its factory, located in Derince – Izmit, with the capacity to produce 140,000 tons of lubricants and grease per year. According to the company's web site, about one out of every three litres of lubricants sold in Turkey is produced and sold by Petrol Ofisi.

OMV Petrol Ofisi is the second largest private company in Turkey with sales of TRY 25 (US$8.5) billion in 2013. The company is Turkey’s leading fuel products distribution and lubricants company with the strongest distribution network consisting of approx. 2,200 filling stations, 1 lubricants plant, 11 fuel terminals, 3 LPG terminals, 19 aviation units and approx. 1.2 million m³ storage capacity.
