INEOS Oligomers has made the Final Investment Decision to build a new 120,000 metric tons per annum world scale, low viscosity PAO unit on the INEOS site at Chocolate Bayou, TX. This unit will become the world’s largest single PAO train. The plant is scheduled to start-up in 3Q 2019.

Specialty minerals and specialty chemicals company ICL announced that it has agreed to sell its oil additives (P2S5 or phosphorus pentasulfide) business along with its fire safety business units to SK Capital for an aggregate amount of approximately $1 billion. The additive business business is part of ICL Specialty Solutions' Advanced Additives business line.

Phillips 66 and Kendall announced last Monday that they will add their most advanced diesel engine oils yet to their heavy-duty product portfolio ..... API FA-4 Phillips 66 Triton FE and Kendall SHP FE along with API CK-4 Phillips 66 Triton Euro and Kendall SHP Euro Diesel Engine Oils. All are SAE 5W-30 full synthetic oils.

Evonik is set to build its first research hub in Singapore and is expected to start operations in 2018. Acting as the Asian platform for high impact R&D with a special focus on Functional Surfaces and Additive Manufacturing, the research hub will be situated in Biopolis, the centre for entrepreneurial and groundbreaking R&D activities in Singapore.

Gulf Oil Lubricants India Ltd announced that its new INR 150 crores (USD22.4 million) 50,000 KL per year lubricant blending plant in Ennore, Chennai started commercial production last Thursday, which will boost the company's lubricants blending capacity to approximately 140,000 metric tons per year. It also has a lubricant blending plant in Silvassa, in western India, with a capacity of 90,000 KL.
