Nynas Starts Operation of Harburg Base Oil Plant

Nynas announced last Thursday that it has now taken over production and responsibility for the base oil plant and associated production units at the Harburg refinery in Hamburg, Germany, with an annual production of specialty oils up to 350,000 tons. This will represent a forty percent increase in the company's supply capability of naphthenic specialty oils.

Fiat Acquires 100% of Chrysler

Fiat last Thursday announced an agreement under which its wholly owned subsidiary, Fiat North America LLC will acquire all of the remaining interests in Chrysler Group LLC , representing the 41.4616% of Chrysler Group not currently held by Fiat North America. The transaction, worth nearly $4.4 billion, is expected to close on or before January 20, 2014.

Oil Recycler Universal Lubricants Opens Baton Rouge Distribution Center

Wichita, Kansas-based Universal Lubricants, a company that re-refines used motor oil, has opened a 12,000-square-foot distribution center in Baton Rouge. The center will serve Universal Lubricants' customers in Louisiana and Mississippi, distributing Universal's branded and proprietary lubricants, which include the Universal and Eco Ultra brands..


Atlantic Pacific LLC to Re-Launch Its Midwest Operation

Hindsale, Illinois-based Atlantic Pacific, LLC has begun to move the equipment necessary for a full re-launch of its Midwest operations with a primary focus on the Chicagoland area. The waste oil collector plans to start with three trucks and a max capacity of 8500 gallons per day.

Flyers Energy Acquires Allied Washoe Petroleum

Auburn, California-based Flyers Energy LLC announced last Thursday that it has acquired the assets of Allied Washoe Petroleum, a fuel and lubricants distributor based in Reno, Nevada. The merger allows Flyers Energy to distribute Shell brand lubricants in the northern Nevada market. Flyers also distributes Chevron commercial and industrial lubricants.
