Houghton International Acquires Wallover

Houghton International announced last Thursday that it has acquired metalworking fluid and industrial lubricant manufacturer Wallover Enterprises, a North American firm headquartered in Strongsville, Ohio. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

BP: China's 2015 Energy Consumption Growth Rate Slowest in 20 Years

The 65th edition of BP's Statistical Review shows that oil remained the world’s leading fuel, accounting for 32.9% of global energy consumption. Coal remained the second largest fuel by market share at 29.2%. Energy consumption in China grew 1.5% in 2015, the slowest rate in almost 20 years.

NOLN describes a specialty motor oil as anything that falls outside the term "conventional oil", i.e., synthetic, synthetic-blend, high-mileage, etc. They also list which engine oil specifications a product meets, be it API, ILSAC, ACEA, dexos or other.

Smitty's Supply Announces Another Finished Lube Price Increase

In a letter dated July 5, 2016 to its customers, Roseland, Louisiana-based lubricant blender Smitty's Supply announced a 6-10% per gallon price increase effective with orders placed on or after July 18, 2016 for both bulk and packaged products. Grease will be increased by 3 cents per pound.
