Polsinello Fuels, Inc., a wholesale distributor of lubricants throughout New York, Vermont, Northern New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Eastern Massachusetts has purchased the Westbury, NY lubricants division of American Agip/Eni Refining & Marketing Company. American Agip, established in North America in 1987, is part of the Eni Group, based in Rome, Italy.
Polsinello Fuels is one of the largest distributors in the region for Shell, Pennzoil, Quaker State and Gulf Lubricants. Polsinello has four divisions: gasoline and diesel, lubricants, heating and propane and HVAC. Lubricants, its second-largest division behind gasoline and diesel, represents 40 percent of the companys revenue.
The company now occupies the 32,000-square-foot warehouse in Westbury, NY formerly owned by ENI. Lou Polsinello said ENI was getting out of the local direct distribution business, and approached his company about buying its Westbury operations.
Polsinello employs a total of 175 people at its Watervliet, Plattsburgh, Canastota and Westbury locations. About 120 employees work out of the companys Watervliet headquarters.
Polsinello, with $130 million in revenue in 2012, expects revenue to grow an additional $8 million from the ENI acquisition.
