Chevron Lubricants Lanka Begins Work on New Lube Blending Plant
Chevron Lubricants Lanka Plc has begun work on its new lubricant blending plant at Sapugaskanda, Sri Lanka with an investment of LKR1.9 billion (US$15 million). The new plant, expected to be commissioned during the third quarter of 2014, will have the capacity to produce 45,000 metric tons of finished lubricants annually in a single shift operation.

Kris Smith Promoted to EVP, Refining and Marketing at Suncor, Boris Jackman to Retire
Suncor last Wednesday announced that Boris Jackman is retiring on September 30, 2013 and that Kris Smith will be promoted to EVP, Refining and Marketing, effective September 9, 2013. Smith will be responsible for industrial, commercial and retail marketing of refined products under the Petro-Canada brand, including Petro-Canada Lubricants worldwide business as well as responsibility for operations at Suncor's four refineries.

Valvoline Reports Strong Fiscal Third Quarter
Valvoline (Ashland Consumer Markets) reported a strong fiscal third quarter. While overall lubricant volumes increased 1 percent from the prior year and year-over-year sales decreased 1 percent to $513 million, EBITDA rose 26 percent to $86 million. On a sequential basis, lubricant volume rose 5 percent and sales gained 4 percent.
