On September 6, Valvoline announced it will increase prices on branded and private label lubricant products effective October 7, 2013. Prices will increase up to 4% and vary by sku and segment. Valvoline states that this price adjustment is a result of rising raw material costs associated with manufacturing and distribution.
In a letter dated September 4, 2013, Phillips 66 Lubricants announced it will raise finished lubricants prices up to 3-4% effective Monday, October 7, 2013. Phillips 66 went on to state that depending on product-specific factors, prices for some products could fall outside this range and that this increase is being driven by recent increases in raw material costs that have occurred despite its best efforts to limit their impact on its product manufacturing..

Chevron announced a general price increase to be effective October 9, 2013, increasing the prices of all lubricating oils by 3% - 6%. In certain instances, specific products may increase in amounts that are outside of this general increase. No specific reason for the price increase was mentioned.
Safety-Kleen announced a price increase on blended products of $0.20/gallon effective September 27, 2013. Safety-Kleen did state that the price increase was due to rising raw material costs and reflecting current market conditions.
Petro-Canada advised its marketers of a 3% across the board price increase effective September 27, 2013.
Advanced Lubrication Specialties (ALS) announced its bulk and packaged lubricant prices will increase by $0.20 a gallon, and grease will increase by $0.03 a pound, effective September 23
ExxonMobil announced a price increase on ExxonMobil branded and unbranded lubricants and greases (i.e. commercial and passenger vehicle and industrial lubricants and greases) of up to 4 percent, effective October 3, 2013, ExxonMobil went on to state that different price treatment may apply to selected products
Roseland, LA-based Smitty's Supply, as well as Cam2, headquartered in Denver, Colorado, both announced a price increase on bulk and packaged lubricants of 20 to 25 cents per gallon, and greases by 3 cents per pound.
Shell Oil Products (SOPUS) announced a general price increase on lubricants of up to 4%, effective September 23, 2013, which equates to roughly a 24 cents per gallon increase for bulk lubricants and a 40 cents per gallon increase for packaged products.
