Sri Lanka's Laugfs Holdings has been given approval to build a lubricant blending plant which will have an annual capacity of 50,000 metric tons, with investments of 1.14 million US dollars at Hambantota Port, in Southern Sri Lanka, according to Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwelle.
Laugfs will lease land for two projects, one of which will be the lubricants blending plant and the other a LPG storage and distribution plant at a cost of US$ 20 million. Both projects will serve export markets.

Laugfs Lubricants Ltd is a subsidiary of Laugfs Holdings Ltd which is a 100% Sri Lankan owned company. It was established in 2006 and the first Sri Lankan lubricant brand Laugfs Oil was launched in July 2008. Laugfs Oil range was introduced with two multigrade and two monograde engine oils for diesel and petrol engines namely Power D40+, Power P40+, Supreme Petra and Supreme Dx. The range was recently expanded through the addition of Lubrex greases, Break and Clutch oil and GearonX manual gear oil.
Laugfs Lubricants oils are presently blended at a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Singapore.
A complete range of lubricants for industrial customers (hydraulic oil, greases, cutting oil, compressor oil, white oil, transformer oils, circulation oil etc) as well as oils for the marine sector will be introduced shortly. The company will also have a range of specialty products which include coolant, power steering fluid, ATF, additives and enhances (octane boosters, injector cleaners etc).
