Petromin JV Partners Dabbagh Group and Gulf Oil International Reportedly Splitting
Saudi Arabian family firm Dabbagh Group is reportedly in the advanced stages of buying out the 49% stake of Gulf Oil International Group, its partner in Petromin, a lubricant venture in the kingdom. The deal is prompted by strategy differences between the partners, sources aware of the matter said. The JV is reportedly valued at about $700 million.

Veolia Environnement and Total Inaugurate Osilub Used Oil Recycling Plant in Normandy
Paris, France-based environmental services firm, Veolia Environnement and Total Lubrifiants inaugurated the Osilub plant at the Gonfreville lOrcher site in Normandy last Friday. After construction lasting 20 months, this plant will increase the motor oil treatment capacity in France and more generally in northwestern Europe, to re-refine used oil into high-grade lubricants.

Evergreen Oil Files for Chapter 11
Waste oil collector and re-refiner Evergreen Oil last week filed for Chapter 11 in California bankruptcy court along with its parent and sole shareholder Evergreen Environmental Holdings. Evergreen said because of a fire in 2011 that severely damaged some of its operating equipment and other reasons, its cash flow has been restricted, making it difficult to operate.

Total Kenya Expands Lubricant Blending Plant
Total Kenya Ltd, part of the TOTAL Group, has invested Sh100 (US$1.2) million in an additional filling line at the companys lubricating oil blending plant located in Shimanzi, Mombasa. The Total Kenya Lube Oil Blending Plant was built in 1952 and occupies 6,000 square meters and is the second largest plant in the region.
